6th International Photo Contest “Mother and Children in National Costumes”
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 6th International Photo Contest “Mother and Children in National Costumes”, which will be held under the auspices of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO Affairs and supported by the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs.
On January 15, 2025, the Organizing Committee launched preparations for this year’s edition, introducing a new nomination for 2025: National Dance Competition.
About the Contest
The contest aligns with UNESCO’s priorities for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and ethnic traditions. The introduction of the “Lullaby in Native Language” nomination will further promote linguistic diversity, resonating with the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022–2032).
Organized by the Regional Public Organization “International Women’s Union”, the contest highlights the cultural diversity of Russia and friendly nations through three categories:
- Photo Contest
- Lullaby in Native Language
- National Dance Competition
Goals of the Contest
- Preserve and promote cultural heritage through traditional costumes, creativity, and unity.
- Strengthen spiritual, moral, and civil values while safeguarding the historical legacy of Russia’s multinational society and friendly foreign nations.
- Showcase unity among cultures in the context of globalization via national costumes, songs, and dances.
Participation Details
- No age restrictions: All age groups are welcome!
- Who can apply?
- Photo Contest: Families (mothers, children, grandparents, and relatives) of any age.
- Lullaby in Native Language: Vocalists performing in their indigenous language.
- National Dance: Solo or group performers representing traditional choreography.
- How to apply?
