Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

We invite you to take part in the 7th International Photo Contest “Mother and Children in National Costumes”.

On January 31, 2026, the Organizing Committee officially began the implementation of the 7th International Photo Contest “Mother and Children in National Costumes”, which is held with the informational support of the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs of Russia (FADN Russia). The General Information Partner of the contest is the reputable online publication “Embassy Life” (https://embassylife.ru/), covering the activities of diplomatic missions in Russia and abroad.

By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, 2026 has been declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The goals and objectives of our contest fully comply with the provisions of the Decree – they are aimed at preserving and developing ethno-cultural diversity, strengthening traditional family values, and demonstrating the unity of peoples through art. In multinational Russia, where hundreds of peoples live in harmony, our project allows us to see through photography, music and dance how the traditions of one family become the heritage and pride of the entire country.

The organizer of the contest –”International Women’s Union” – presents three main categories designed to highlight the cultural diversity of Russia and friendly countries:

  • Photo Contest “Mother and Children in National Costumes”– the main category in which the art of photography reveals the connection between generations and the beauty of national heritage.
  • National Lullaby Contest– a category where the soul of the people speaks. We accept videos with performances of traditional lullabies in native languages.
  • National Dance Contest– a dynamic category dedicated to the preservation and popularization of the choreographic heritage of the peoples of the world.

The International Photo Contest is held with the aim of preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage of peoples through the demonstration of traditional costumes, creativity and unity. The initiative of the RPO “International Women’s Union” is aimed at strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values of civil unity and preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the multinational people of the Russian Federation and friendly foreign countries.

There are no age restrictions for participation in the contest. Everyone is invited to participate without restrictions on age or citizenship.

Who can participate?

  • Photo Contest: families (mothers and children, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers and other family members)
    • National Lullaby: vocalists performing a song in their native language
  • National Dances: groups or solo performers representing national choreography

How to submit an application?

Key dates:

  • Application submission: from March 1, 2026 to September 25, 2026
  • Announcement of results: until October 25, 2026 on the official contest website

The laureates and winners of the contest will be presented in an online gallery on the official website of the photo contest.

The Organizing Committee would be grateful for the dissemination of information about the contest among interested individuals and organizations, as well as for assistance in attracting participants from among the citizens of your country.
